Spy pics of E60 makes it look like an American car, Pontiac to be exact. Pew!!

I wouldn't rely on any "dealer's" info... as they've always been the "12th man" on the team... Last to know..

I think the salesguy got all the rumors mixed into one. Here's what we do know:

1) Yes!! New shape 5 series (E60) will be introduced in fall 2002 as 2003 model.

2) Yes!! M5 will get the SMG II (or III) exact date unknown

3) Yes!! next generation M5 will have a target HP of 500HP

but here's what you don't want to hear:

1) No!! you will not see the E60 M5 until 2005 (as 2006 Model)

2) No!!we don't know is SMG II will be available on E39 M5 (2002 will be the last E39 M5 Model year)

3) E60 5 series will be appx. 500 lbs lighter than E39 M5

I just heard from a SoCal BMW Dealer that BMW is introducing a new 5 Series shape early '02 with a 500hp M5 with SMG2, has anyone else heard such news?
