Have you talked to Steve (Dinan) yet about his clutch replacement? Curious what his comments will be on the size and maintinence issues.

p.s. Just messed with Karma again. Ordered the 3.45 rear end. I now can officially not afford the new clutch. (Time for it to go out!)

I must have picked up Mark's karma for this week -- my clutch gave up the ghost this evening, with a horrible burnt-brake smell which still lingers two hours after parking the car. I've driven plenty of stick-shift cars over the years, and this is a first. It's pretty clearly a design problem.

For those who have already had this problem -- what was your experience getting BMW to pick up the tab for the repair? Any special incantation necessary (like a TSB #)?
