What BS. The dealer wants evidence from someone else (other than BMWNA) that there's a problem? Just do a search on this board, and you'll find MANY people who have reported clutches being fixed. Me included. Just do a keyword search on clutch. Faisal in New York has put together an electronic petition "signed" by many of us.

Print that out and show it to your dealer, and then have him tell you you're an "isolated incident" and that you'll have to pay.
