In Europe, almost every single country takes off for a month in august. They go to the beach and relax and eat. When they come back from this month off in late august, the 2002 model year begins. The last 2001 models will be produced toward the end of july/early august.

Au contraire'- BMW has not has a consistent model year introduction or change over. While most european maufacturers uae the month of August for vacations and retooling, BMW does not use this month consistently for model change over. For example, the 2000 740iL I have was delivered the 2nd week of August 1999 and was not the first delivered in my area. The previous car I has was a 1998 740iL delivered in the spring of 1997! Who knows when the 2002 M5 comes this way?
