Have had the same experience on and off with my '00 car, now at 9,600 miles. It's been a couple of months now since it has popped up. No defect in the sending device nor any of the tires. Dealer mystified. Mine has done it at speed and in ordinary neighborhood driving. No pattern.

I've learned to ignore it, and it seems like the frequency has diminished as the car gets some miles under its wheels.

After driving for 30 minutes at 70 mph the warning message "tire defect" appeared. Stopped at next exit. Tires looked fine an vehicle drove normally. Restarted and warning was gone, but it reappeared after another 30 minutes. What does this mean?
