CLK55 (glorified CLK 430!) WAKE UP BUDDY!

And the M5 isn't just a rebadged 540i? Tchah, right. I know you bad-boys idolise absolutely anything with an 'M' badge on the boot, but fair dos, stuck in traffic it's just another common as hell 5-series on steroids...

Guess what, the consistent numbers are 4.7 for the M5, and 5.0-5.2 for the CLK 55.

Perhaps, but Mercedes have an answer to the M5 in the E55... identical 0-60, identical 1/4 mile, identical 0-100-0 time. And all that vunderful German torque -- 15% more of it than the M5 -- is transferred through a rapid auto box, so there's no chance of the E55 screwing up the changes :)

Don't waste your time racing an M5. You're at a distinct disadvantage.

A self-shifting CLK55 is likely to be faster away from the line more consistently than an M5. And hey, we M-B owners -- many of us former BMW drivers -- know about those nasty clutch problems you guys are having, most probably down to the fact you spend way too much time squealing away from the lights :)
