Can you guys tell me how smooth your car is while in idle and reving to 3000? Does your shift knob vibrate?

The only time I've had a BMW shake and wobble on me is in an old pre-Alusil '94 740i, when vibrations at idle were evidence of engine damage caused by excess sulphur in the fuel.

If your M5 rattles or vibrates the seat of your pants at idle, I'd be back down the dealership asking the hell why! Mine did not do that. It wasn't as smooth as the Benz, but I certainly have no recollection of it being a giant vibrator.

How intrusive, exactly, is this vibration? Does it rattle the clips on your brief case or zipper?

Just my 2c :)
