Because we have to pay a 32percent(dealer)or 40percent(private)tax of the retail of the car(goverment ripp off),then the dealer overcharge you because is a rare car(another ripp off)
My car is also Imola red(special order)and I'm very close to have a M5 clone....maybe in a couple of years I can go for the real thing!:-)

I'm located at Puerto Rico and the price tag of the M5 down here is $105,000......thats to much for me.The other thing is the six speed tranny. It's fun,but when you have to drive all day you get tired of it.
For the people in the states that can get the M5 for $60 or $65 with few miles your suggestion is the truth, but for me is a long run to $105
Why don't you just buy the seats from BMW...or the M5 itself? Many 5ers try to replicate the M5 look and performance with costly upgrades which ultimately end-up costing almost as much as the M5 itself.

Just a thought.
