The two bare speakers hang down uncovered from the top of the trunk. They look like an after thought which they are, but so do after market solutions I have seen. With the m dsp, you lose more of the preciously small vertical space to the trunk. I have not seen any reviews about the benefits of the m dsp sound quality from a technical standpoint, but people who have it seem to like it.
