Certainly sounds like fun. The sound you heard from the Supra was almost certainly a blow-off valve. They typically make 360 - 420 rear-wheel HP in modified form and weigh about 3500 lbs, so they're demons from a roll; the M5's best chance is to take one on the launch.

Regarding the Z06, I suspect a substantial difference in driver skill is responsible for the outcome. I've seen a number of stock Z06s run 12.9 @ 109 - 110 in the 1/4, which is half a second and 4 MPH faster than the M5 can hit. All the more reason to be happy with your wins!
