Good grief. Well, just to make you horribly jealous, my M5 had every UK channel -- woo, all five of them!! -- plus Teletext: a free service which, again thanks to strange U.S. behaviour (in this case the inaction of the FCC), you folks never got to fully enjoy. There was also a simple 'tweak' allowing you to drive and watch telly and/or the Dow Jones as you made your way in to work :)
Has to be said, one of the examples they taught me in Economics class at school was of the way the U.S. government made foreign car manufacturers change the design of their cars, by introducing weirdo regulations including a minimum fender height, depth, and so on, which had the effect of pushing the price up. Pretty devious if you ask me.
Mind you, I'm eternally grateful to you guys for Dave Barry, McDonalds and the X-Files, so you've fully redeemed yourselves -- well, in my eyes at least :)
