Also, is there a big difference between the 2000 M5 and the 2001 M5. I'm getting a real good deal on an Imola Red M5. Although its not my favorite color, the deal is hard to beat. Thanx for the input.

Imola is THE best color for the BEAST - IMHO! ;) There are a few differences between a '00 and a '01 M5:

1) the front lights on the '01 car have rings (angle eyes as they are referred to) and look much more aggressive

2) the rear lights are brighter and use LEDs for tail lamps vs. bulbs for the '00 car. Also, the lenses are brighter red and the backup light lenses are brighter white on the '01 car.

3) the '01 car has a new steering wheel with a different button layout, also the wheel itself is a little thicker to hold on to.

4) the display now uses a 16X9 aspect ratio screen which is motorized and has the cassette deck behind it instead of on the side as on the '00 car.

5) there is an "M enhanced audio" option on the '01 car which uses 2 subwoofers and better speakers inside the car.

Those are the differences that I know about?... btw: I've done the front and rear light facelift on my '00 car, so it looks identical to a '01 car now.

Here is a picture of my Imola BEAST! Enjoy!
