I looked very closely at both cars before buying my M5. The facts as I saw them: No standard transmission, 50+/- less horsepower,useless back seat and overall lower performance numbers. If you like Mercedes (and I do) the CLK is a very pretty car. For comparison also look at the E55 and the S55 coupe.

I am getting rid of 2001 911 turbo for something more practical... I am very torn between the clk55 and the m5. I drove the m5 but I am yet to drive the clk55. Looking for some advice from someone has owned both cars or knows them both very well..
