Is it possible to retrofit 2001 Nav on 2000 M5? (archive)

I was wondering if I can fit the 2001 Nav onto the 2000 Nav system. I heard mixed comments. Some said Yes while others said no. Does anyone have a definite answer? I appreciate the input. Thank
