Did you say the early 2000 M5's have no piston rings!? What's that all about?


One of the service reps. told me that someone with an early build M5 (no piston rings) who was supposed to use 10-60 oil changed it himself and used 5-30.Because it is thinner oil, it burned off
and I guess his warning light didn't work.He ruined the engine and had to pay for a new one himself at 27k!
