Thanks for the bulletin. It shows that Castrol is changing the name of the 10W-60 oil, however, on page 3 of the bulletin it says "up to 2/2000", which to me implies that newer models still should use a different oil.


bulletin is one page and other two pages are from bmw aftersales CD

read 5.0 Longlife page which I think is for post 2/2000 as the header say ' approved for all except E39 up to 2/2000'. This shows the SLX oit is now for post 2/2000 along with others by other manufacturers oils.
