A stroker would still get eaten by the E39 M5. They did a test in Evo magazine with an E39 M5, E34 M4 3.8 6spd and E28 M5. They said although the E34 had a strong pull, the E39 just disappeared. The real numbers for a stroked M5 is about 340hp (that's the factory figures for a E34 3.8), Dinan 380hp numbers are absolute bullshit.

I think the car that probably made the E39 look silly was a disguised Alpina B10 biturbo, with a little crank on the boost, that car would beat an E39 M5 easily.

Cheers,
Hans

i was at the light when an E 34 M5 pulled behind me. He reved his engine. I laughfed. Little did i know i was facing my ultimate slaughter. Light turns green and i was off! next thing you know he went around me and blew my doors off! We went at it at the next light! same thing! he blew my doors off again! i couldnt understand what was going on. I tried listening to his engine but no sound of turbo or supercharger. The only thing i noticed was the M5 badge and the custom exhaust. If he was spraying NOS i would have noticed. I tried catin up to him but he went on the highway and i followed. i was up to 140 mph! and he was still pulling away. I will never forget what i saw today. If you are reading this i just want to know what on earth do you have under that hood?!

my friend bought a stroker that dyno'd several times at 380hp at the crank. In fact, the original owner supposedly sued Dinan as they claimed 405 at the time. Anyway, he has broken 5 seconds to 60mph with a Gtech (I know it isn't so accurate) but the car is even quicker from a roll. So, assuming it is making 380hp, that is not such a big difference is it? BTW, the Dinan stroker is 3.9 liters.
