While I ordered the split/fold rear seats, I understand that many do not because the non-folding ones are supposedly more plush and aren't susceptable to some of the rattles that the folding seats can get. There are also rumors that the solid seats add some rigidity to the car.

I can not verify any of those assertions, but I've seen them posted and, if true, seem like valid reasons not to want the fold down seats if you don't plan to use them.
