I usually cruse at around 2000 (on flat ground), and shift at around 3500 or 4000. The car is still fast, but you get better milage, and remember miles don't kill an engine, revs do. Just remember that it is a sports car at heart, and don't be afraid to punch it and shift at 7000 every once in a while. I have heard it is good for the car.
