I have a spot for a nov build 2002 m3 with SMG. I would have to sell my beast (2001 m5) to get this. I am worried that since I have never got a chance to drive an m3, I might be dissapointed with the fact that it may "feel" slower than my car. I know it defiently feels more nimble and light but does it nail your head into the seat as much as the M5 in straight line acceleration??
M5: 394hp 367lb/ft torque
M3: 330hp 262lb/ft torque
I have spoke with some m5 owners and they told me the m3 feels like it has much less torque than the M3. Is this in fact true? I am really trying to get an unbiased opinion. I am absolutely torn between the two and need to decide pretty soon. What does everyone think? Should i give up my M5? I want to make sure that the M3 has the same snap my head back into the seat feeling that my M5 has.
Please help!
