I can't really say that my service department has been all that bad. I do wish that they had better customer care and such but there's no denying the fact that BMW's especially the M5 are way more fun to drive than the ones from Lexus. That's what counts for me. Besides when I wanted to change my HID lowbeam bulbs to the new 6000k bulbs, I went to my dealership and they were only too happy to change it for me even though it required that they remove the air filter unit! Took them a short while but I wasn't charged! Now that's service! Same thing when I put in the HID bulbs in my fogs...it really depends on which dealership you go to or for that matter which technician you deal with. :D
