Hi John,

I am still considering the 993 C2S but as of now I can either get a 1997 993 C2S for $65k (16k miles) or a 2000 M5 for $60k (9k miles).

Should I be concerned regarding the weak clutch and noisy Vanos John?

Thanx for your reply and congrats for the 02 M5, the Blue estoril is my favorite color on BMW (I had it on the E36 M3).

Suwipin, I thought you had decided to go for the 911 C2S, what changed your mind? I have a 2002 Estoril Blue M5 on order expected delivery March. I have had an M5 before and have the M3 at present and you will not be disappointed if you go for the M5. Only issues I am ware of on 00/07 M5s are high oil consumption, weak clutch and noisy Vanos.
