Word is model year 2002 is it for the current M5. So calender year 2003 will be the last year you can buy a new E39 M5.

The next generation will probably come out in calender year 2005 or 2006.

Of course, you can always buy an used one. There should be approximately 4,000 of us around.

HI,

My lease on my 3 series will be up Feb '02. Does anyone know how much longer they will be producing the M5 until they change the body style?

I'm on the fence here.. Should I buy one eventhough the body style will not be current or go with the new 5er. From photos I have seen I dont think I will like the looks of it...

Then theres always possibility of an m3.

Thanks in advance

~Kurt
