We have a 2001 BMW 530i. The instruction manual and a sticker on the driver side windshield both state under no circumstances should a radar detector be used in the vehicle. Is BMW trying to promote good citizenship with this warning or is there a real threat to the auto's electronics? The manual goes on to state no cell phone should be used inside the car without an outside antenna. Does the same problem exist with non-BMW cell phone use or are they trying to get their customers to purchase their optional cell phone avec outside aerial?
