I was in the same position back in June and I traded my 00 540iA for a 00 M5. I tried to call my wife from the dealership and got voicemail. I left her a message and told her I was doing it. Then I arrived home with my M5 and some flowers. It wasn't a pretty sight. She was pissed. It cost me some expensive earrings to help her recover.
