I even tried to buy one in about Feb or March of this year but the dealers were trying to get $5k premiums and I said forget it. Now, you can walk in and get them at MSRP pretty easy. People selling used ones are still trying to get near $30k, perhaps because most of them paid premiums over MSRP. I'm thinking that if the economy doesn't recover soon, I might be able to get a clean low miles used one for around $20k. At that point, I might just jump in.

The Boxster S is quite a bit more car but also quite a bit more money.

Looking at the economics, you might just be able to keep your 540 and get a used S2000 for about the same money as upgrading to an M5.
