I don't know if he knew that he was doing this at the time, but it worked. He was going to get at least a 540 but really wanted the M5. I said that I would just not feel financially comfortable with that expensive of a car (and yes I do earn my own money, what do you think I bought the Z3 with:). He also wanted this $13,000 flat panel high-def television. I knew the TV would go down in price in a couple of years, but by then, they wouldn't be making M5s anymore. So, I told him that I would rather see him spend the difference on the M5 (which I would enjoy more anyway and hopefully get as a hand me down in about 5 years:) than to get the 540 and the flat panel. Now I just hope we don't both get laid off.
