You may wish to go to the online Kelly Blue Book site and request the resale value of a 1998 M5 or 540 and specify the milage. It will give an estimated value based on the milage. The resale price will be different.

I use a beater car (nice BMW 525) so I don't have to worry about parking, getting it dirty, and putting on the miles. Oh course there's no way I could keep from stepping on the gas ALL the time, so fewer tickets too.

Obviously it is difficult to predict future resale values.

However, what do you think the difference in resale value would be in 2 years for:

1) 2000 M5 30,000 miles
2) 2000 M5 60,000 miles

Any thoughts? $1K, $2,K, $5K??????

(I am trying to see if it would make sense to lease a beater car to put excess miles on)

Thanks for your opinions.
