My girlfriend and I went to Spartanburg SC this week to attend the "free" 2 day junket that BMW provides with the purchase of an M5. One day was spent on their short, but fun test track and the ohter day spent touring North and South Carolina in M roadsters and M coupes. If you haven't attended this session, by all means do so. I learned a lot about the immense capabilities of the M5 in a controlled situation on the track - no one would push their M5 that hard on the sreet and not have some 'splaining to do to their insurance adjustor. The driving instructors are all racers, many of them Skip Barber instructors. They actually let 3 of us run around the track at the same time, in a really fast game of tag! Never out of 3rd gear, so speeds are 85-90 MPH max.
Highly recommended!
