I live in Sweden and we do have a lot of snow here.

My definate recommendation is to use the seperate M5 winter wheel package from BMW for your car, that I use. This gives you three advantages:

- More easy shifting
- Better grip
- Saving the finish on the smoke-satin 18 inch alloys

The wheels and tyres in this M5 winter package - If it is the same in the US - are 17 inch wheels - same as the 5 series sport (yes it works perfectly) and are 235/45 17 Dunlop Winter Sport. The same size front and rear.

Using wider skin than that wont give us any grip - thatīs why they made this set of winter tyres. Unfortunately its not possible to use winter tyres with the built in small metal things for grip on ice - donīt know what its called in english.

Good Luck - and keep the DSC on :-)
