Sorry for all these (seemingly stupid) posts. I'm in that investigation phase and many of you guys have probably been through this already and know the answers, or have some opinions.

My question is about options. Here's my take on it:

Fully loaded usually has no problem with resale. I see the M5 comes fairly loaded already (i.e. Nav, htd/pwr seats, leather ... etc, standard). What about getting a car WITHOUT PDC, Sunshade, M-Audio. I decided I really don't need PDC (don't like the way bumper looks and some say annoying). Rear sunshade - I live in Northeast, not Southwest and I don't sit in the back so I won't be hot; OK - selfish; plus more mechanicals to break and fix later). The M-audio might be nice but I had a 540i/6 with the premium DSP and didn't think it was totally awful; and if I really hate it I guess I could find some way to improve it later.

Q: How would *not* getting these three options (PDC, Sunshade and M-audio) affect resale later, in your opinion?

Rgds,
Norm

Options are really personal preference, but here is my .02...

PDC...my wife already used it to save a nasty ding from a basketball hoop in a friend's house. I think it's good insurance against an ugly ding. YMMV. I have already used the sunscreens and they do help a lot.

Resale value? Maybe a tiny difference, but if a buyer is motivated to buy an M5, a few small differences in options won't change things.

Regards,

Doug
