would recall that Lamborghini was owned for several years by an Indonesian-Malaysian group that basically trashed the company whilst nearly destroying their fabrication department and R&D development programme. So, Audi basically bought a mere shell of a company on the cheap; the proverbial sow's ear into a silk purse play. By the way, Mr. S4 came to this board with challenging statements about the reputed superiority of the Audi over the M5 performance-wise. I would dare say a good majority of M5 owners - at least ones on the continent - are professionals who really ought care a mare's arse about straight-performance, and who would by most chaps' books be considered what you would call a snob.
