Oil - totally confused now - help appreciated. (archive)

Prod Date: First, my door pillar sticker has date 9/00. Vehicle history report run at dealer says 08/00. Any idea why? I will be calling dealer to ask.

Oil: My owner's manual says 10W-60 approved (it's a CPO, so I can only assume it was the original manual delivered with the car). Almost identical manual downloaded from BMWUSA site says 5W-30 is approved. Under hood, sticker says 5W-30 recommended. What oil should I use?
