M5 vs 540i 6 speed (archive)

Aside from the price is there any advantage to the 540i 6 speed as compared to the M5. Is the ride more comfortable? I leased an E36 M3 and although I loved the car the ride was a little harsh. Is the M5 comfortable as a daily driver? I certainly do appreciate the advantage of decreased body roll in turns, but is it worth it?
