i can understand your opinion that the car is too harsh, that's a matter of personal preference and also depends on the road conditions you encounter. out here in the bay area the roads are decent (not perfect, but better than back east or in the midwest) so the firmer ride is actually fine.

at the end of the day i think the difference is more than worth the expense, but the 540 is a sweet car as well. good luck...
