In fact I inquired about effectiveness of M-Mobility kit, etc. I like my 540i/6 too and although I've only driven my newly acquired '01 M5 one day (due to travel after I picked it up a week ago), I can say from the brief experience that I'm willing to go without the spare (read that as "WOW"). Actually, I will pick up a used wheel and mount a spare and keep in my garage if I need it. I will also take it on long trips - that's why I got the fold-down rear seats; so I can carry a few suitcases and a spare. The fact is that most people never get to even use a spare - but - when you need one, there's no substitute.
