Where to buy snow tires ? (archive)

Hi everyone from up here in Minnesota. I just picked up my 2002 carbon black M5 on Friday and need some help. I am looking for snow tires. I would prefer to use my original wheels for the snows and purchase a second set of wheels for the summer. But I can't find anything in stock this late in the season (yes I tried Tire rack, and even spoke to one of the owners who has a M5, no luck). Maybe snow tire just are not made to fit these 8” and 9 ½” rims.

Would I be better off just going with new 17 wheels and snows, thereby keeping the factory wheels for summer?

If I find I have a choice of snows what do you guys like? I have seen positive comments on Nokians.
