I have never really worried abnout what to tell the dealer. They know I have a tendency to install new products in the car myself and often disconnect to battery to protect vital systems. I don't think any errors that are reported to the computer are lost though. Just the seat memory and time and date. Everything else to my knowledge remains. Can check with them Monday if you like to verify.
