My M5 is the nr. 11th on my list since I bought my first e-28...all of them had the temp needle reaching 12 'o clock but the M5...I thought at first that the thermostat was locked open, but after a quick test (cabin temp) I realized that it was working fine, same with the fan clutch. I went to the service, and the answer was 'all M5s we service here shows the same'.
I also noticed that under stress, it gets a hairthick short of 12:00 o'clock, but immediatly after slowing down a bit, it returns to the 10-11 mark. Poor calibrating maybe?

is just a bit above first dot? I've seen mine range from just a whisker above first dot to about midway between 1st dot and 12 o'clock. I'll have it checked anyway.

Rgds,
Norm

But since I'm having an in-between oil change, I'll just have them look at it anyway.

Norm
