Selling 2000 M5 (archive)

Need advise on selling a 2000 M5 with 29.5K miles. Black, black/blue leather, alum. trim with rear shade.

I've never sold a car to someone I don't know and hate the thought of doing a private sale with strangers. Anyone got a tip sheet on how to do a private sale?

The offers from local dealer have been insulting on trade but I may take it by Carmax just to see what they have to offer.

I know the high miles are a negative but it's not my primary ride anymore and can park it for 6 months or so to help roll off some of the penalty.

Some curbing on wheels but dealer says can be refinished for about $50 per wheel. Not serious damage.

Car is CPO and clutch was replaced at around 25K or so. Wasn't burned out or anything.

I've got an ankle injury and it hurts to clutch. It hurts more to keep in in the garage without driving so it looks like it's time to go.

Any ideas as to what the market is for this?

thx
