I saw the great itemization of the differences between the 00 and the 01 M5s below. I am in the market for an M5 and am leaning towards the 01 because of the upgrades. In exchanging e-mails with one dealer, the dealer said "The 2000 M5s are better, with a higher horsepower and torque rating. In addition, they do not tend to burn oil like the 2001s do. These things could be important if you are planning to keep your M5 for a long time, and they do affect the resale value, as you can see with the current
market pricing." The dealers resale value claim is off the mark, but what about her torque, horsepower and oil claims?

Thanks,
