...in this regard, you will find that bmw's specs for the my00s and my01s are the exact same in terms of hp and torque characteristics...of course, the actual hp and torque of an individual car is specific to that car, and will fall within a range +/- the bmw-specified specs.

...on the issue of engine oil consumption, you will find if you search the earlier archives (around month 3 to month 12) a bmwna service bulletin that reaches the exact opposite conclusion of your dealer.

...lastly, i dare say that a number of enthusiasts on this board have product knowledge of the m5 - or, for that matter, any bmw model - vastly superior to that of your run-of-the-mill dealer hire...sad, but true.

...hope this helps and no offense intended to those dealers and employees who truly recognize the essence of what is and has been bmw.
