LC is correct. 9/02 will be the last production month of the E39 5 series and M5. E60 production starts in 10/02 for Europe with the US not too soon afterwards. The E60 M5 should hit our shores fall of 2004 as a 2005 model with at least 500 HP......yeah baby!

The Track Record of BMW has been to release the US 1 year after EU.

So if your EU/UK release of 10/02 is correct then that's a 2003 model... meaning the US will hit at the end of 2003 as a 2004 Model.

Notice there isn't any 1996 model E39's but there are E39's built in 1996 or US as a 1997 model.

So most likey the 2003 might be the missing year ... like 1996.
