My dealer told me they had a 2-year wait. I started calling all the dealers in the state, especially in the smaller towns, and found one that had a much shorter list. These days, I have to believe you could find one with almost no list at all.

Armed with this, you may be able to get your dealer to give you the deal you deserve, although I wouldn't take a car from them at discount after getting shafted like that!

BTW, just a thought: if you're so close to not being able to afford the car, you may want to consider a step down. I know it sucks, but unexpected expenses do come up, and a few years down the road, the maintenance cost could be a real killer. Not Ferrari expense, but it sure isn't Ford cheap!
