Funny, when service was for a FEE, there was a list of things to be done all at a significant cost. Now that service is FREE, the required service is nil. Have the cars changed ? NOPE. In fact while doing a CPO on my 540 yesterday the dealer tried to charge me for brake fluid......How is that NOT a required service item, I asked? Well, turns out is IS and SHOULD have been done at my second service, (2 years), but it WASNOT.

NET NET, BMW offering free service creates an immediate conflict of interest. SERVICE on your own if you have to and hold them to what needs to be done. My 540 lights did not turn yellow until 15k and then 30k.....'Are you questioning the BMW engineers? Do you know more than the engineers? the service folks told me.....NO certainly not, but 15k between oils is WAY WAY too long.
My Land Rover, which also has free maintenance drops EVERY FLUID, engine oil, diff oil, tranny, coolant etc.....at the 3 year mark. FREE. That is more like it.
