What are delivery miles? Was it used as a demonstrator by dealer staff? If not, why would they be holding onto it this long? I'd check the pre-delivery (shipping) and service records to see if there are any issues. As I recall, demand was high and M5s were going for more than list. Why would they sacrifice extra cash on this car by not selling it at the end of the model year last year? Otherwise, I'd pay a the retail value of a 2001 M5 as reported by Edmunds or MSN, and maybe add a few hundred if it has never been titled and has less than 500 miles on it.
