Sam Mitani is the ONLY tester (M5 vs E55) that came to that conclusion and he still gave the nod to the M5. In every other major auto mag (C&D, AutoWeek, Automobile, Motor Trend) the M5 out braked, out handled, out accelerated, and had better steering feel than the E55. It's no engineering marvel to throw a supercharger on a bored out V8.........AMG and M-B have never been able to match the engineering prowess of BMW when it comes to engine design......period.
