That question was answered by Tom W. (BMW M Brand Manager) and that is because "...THERE IS "NO FAT" in this engine..."

look.... there is always gonna be a faster better car. Personally, I am sufficiently satisfied w/ my M5.
oh!! btw, the V10 is not exactly "down the road" ... as BMW recently finished the first round of testing the 2005 "M6" test mule w/ the V-10 in it.

Also, if you really want to go fast, may I suggest you buy a 2002 Z06?? Dollar for dollar, that's the best buy for a sports car as of right now.
