My wife talked to BMW (1-800-831-1117). They said that they were aware of the problem, that it was a software 'glitch", and that a fix is on the way. Unfortunately they could give an ETA and claimed that dealerships would learn of the fix before they would. In general, is customer support (1-800-831-1117) reliable or are they blowing smoke?

Also, I was told by them when I called BMWNA (m) noka 19:57 3/11/2002 (1)
- This process shield BMW from customer's problems Digi 06:38 3/12/2002 (0)
I took my X5 in for a fix they said they had Digi 13:43 3/11/2002 (0)
