Howdy,
I've got a 2,400 mile 2001 Carbon/black M5 on it's way to me.
The car was checked out by a BMW dealership, and everything was to spec. The build date on the car is 1/01/01.
My question: Does it have the widescreen Nav?
The former owner is a NHL hockey player who is near impossible to contact. The dealership doesn't remember. I know the car has angel eyes.
Does anyone know when BMW switched to the widescreen nav?

I had a '97 528i with nav; I have a 2000 540i/6 now with it. I ordered an '02 M5 this week, so I'm curious about the differences.

Ergonimically, it seems to me that the nav knob is too far away. On my 6-speed, I can rest my hand on the shift lever and operate the computer.

What about displays? Can you see both the text and the actual map simultaneously? Or, see nav info in one panel, and OBC/Audio in another?
